Taking Time to Consider His Creation
Greetings from Virginia!
After 2,200 miles (approximately 44 hours of driving), we arrived in Virginia. My husband did all the driving while I helped navigate. But most of the time, I snuggled with Noëlle and enjoyed the changing scenery. The farther we traveled east, the more green the landscape became.
These green rolling hills sharply contrasted with the hot, dry desert of our former home. But I must admit, the desert possesses its own unique beauty. Although I am not by nature an outdoorsy person, I see and appreciate God through His handiwork.Â
I marvel at my God whose
powerful words created the universe out of nothing.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. (Hebrews 11:3 NIV)
imagination formed more than 1.5 million known species of plants and animals (and still counting).
How many are your works, Lord!
   In wisdom you made them all;
   the earth is full of your creatures. (Psalm 104:24 NIV)
provision meets the daily needs of all He created.
All creatures look to you
   to give them their food at the proper time.
When you give it to them,
   they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
   they are satisfied with good things. (Psalm 104:27-28 NIV)
love makes His presence known through the gift of His son.
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17 NIV)
When I take time to consider and reflect on His creation, I can’t help but praise Him.Â
I will sing to the Lord all my life;
   I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. (Psalm 104:33 NIV)
Today, the road less traveled brought me to Virginia. Wherever else the road may lead, I pray to always take time to appreciate the wonders of God. Wherever the road takes you, I pray you can do the same.
Sweet reminders (and powerful). Welcome to the east coast, Shirley 🙂
Thank you for your encouraging words, Charla! I am glad to be here.
